Residential water testing near you
We're a water filter company in Arlington, and we test water for free because most people have never seen what's in their own tap. Two ways to get it done:
In-home, Northern Virginia
We come to you in Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, McLean, Reston and across Northern Virginia, test at your kitchen sink and explain the results. About 45 minutes.
By mail, everywhere else
In Maryland, DC or anywhere else in the U.S., we mail a free test kit. You test at home and we help you read the results.
Testing for lead
Lead comes from a home's own pipes, not the utility, so it has to be tested at your tap, by a certified lab: a TDS reading can't see it. Read more about lead in drinking water.

Yes, if you're in Northern Virginia: we test your tap in person, free, in about 45 minutes. Anywhere else in the U.S., including Maryland and DC, we mail you a free water test kit.
Use a lead test from a state-certified laboratory, with water from the tap you drink from, taken first thing in the morning before running it: lead comes from a home's own pipes and fixtures and builds up overnight. Our free in-home test measures total dissolved solids (TDS), which doesn't detect lead.
Our free in-home test measures your tap water's total dissolved solids (TDS), the minerals, salts and metals dissolved in it, and we explain the reading on the spot. Your city's report on our site shows what testing of your utility's supply found, including contaminants a TDS reading can't show, like PFAS and disinfection byproducts.
Yes. There is no charge for the in-home test or the kit, and no obligation to buy anything. We sell a water filter, and we'd rather you know what's in your water first.
Yes, the free test works on well water too. If a lender or your state requires a well test, that must come from a state-certified laboratory; see our real estate water testing page.
